This is a highly regarded and internationally recognised qualification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). It is the minimum qualification required to teach English as a foreign language in further education colleges, universities and private language schools in the UK.

What is covered?
This is a well-established and highly practicalteacher training course which provides themethodology, hands-on teaching practice (sixhours) and feedback to enable you to teacheffectively in the English Language classroom.Although this course will give you themethodology and confidence to begin teachingin as little as four weeks, candidates need to beaware that it is a very intensive course that willrequire them to spend extra time on courseworkoutside class time and at weekends.

- Be at least 18 (preferably aged 20 or over).
- Have a recommended language level in spoken and written English of C2 or C1+ on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
- Have access to a computer or laptop and possess basic IT skills.
- Have the potential to develop the necessary skills to become effective teachers.
We will offer an evening course, which will runevery Wednesday and Thursday evening from17:30-20:30 for 22 weeks. In the summer, anintensive 4 week course (Monday-Friday) will runfrom 6th July – 31st July 2026.
You will be internally assessed throughoutthe course on your practical teaching as well asbackground knowledge of methodology throughwritten assignments. The course is externallyvalidated through Cambridge English LanguageAssessment.
